Rally Updates

Brecon RFC (20th-22nd May) – All EHU pitches have now been booked. There are plenty of non-EHU pitches still available.

Aberaeron RFC (27th May – 5th Jun) – This rally is now full.

Rallies on CaMC Sites – CaMC are putting up all their prices on Club sites. Gowerton has gone up to £18.72 p/n, Tredegar House to £18.72 p/n and Pembrey to £19.92 p/n.

Centre Update

We recently held a rally marshals meeting where the committee promised to feedback in relation to some points and questions raised.

Q. With the size of towing vehicles and caravans increasing, would it be possible to increase the distance between rows to allow longer units to manoeuvre more easily onto their pitch?
A. Yes, where the venue has the room, the marshal can extend the length of the pitch by another metre. Also to note, our guidance for pitches is already bigger than the minimum size that the club states.

Q. Senior Centre Members discount vouchers: With the changes to the clubs guidance on concessions to rally fees, in that these are no longer allowed, will West Wales be continuing to issue OAP vouchers?
A. Unfortunately, we will have to stop issuing discount vouchers to senior members as the vouchers would breach C&MC guidance.

Q. When will we get back to having centre flag on rallies?
A. With most restrictions lifting at the end of the month, Flag can be introduced again. The only difference will be that going forward hot drinks and biscuits will no longer be provided at flag.
A discussion was held with the rally marshals and it was a unanimous vote not to restart the hot drinks, as the requirement to carry (and use) urns, extra gas bottles etc was becoming counterproductive, due to deterring people from marshalling rallies.  However, competitions etc will get back to normal as soon as conditions allow. With regards to biscuits etc, new food handling guidance has been issued by the club, and food allergy warnings and ingredients lists must be displayed when open food (including biscuits) are available for members and guests.

Q. Can motorhomes park awning to awning?
A. No, unfortunately, they cannot. This is due to club pitching guidance and fire regulations on rallies. Where vehicles have offside doors, they will need to park facing the opposite direction if an awning or canopy is being used.

2022 Rally Programme

Our 2022 rallies are now open for bookings. Just head over to the 2022 Rally Programme page and click on the Book Online link against each rally.

We have a number of rallies without any marshals currently. Please consider if you are able to run one of these as without you the rallies will have to be cancelled. Running a rally is not as difficult as you may think and the marshals go free. Please contact Tracy Bell (Rally Secretary) if you are able to help or would like further information on what’s involved.

Rally Payments

For the foreseeable future we are continuing to use bank transfers (BACS) as the method of payment for rallies. Our BACS details can be found here.

Please make sure that you quote the correct Reference when paying for a rally. The Reference for each rally can be found on our 2022 Rally Programme page. If you have paid for a West Wales Centre rally by BACS in the past then the last Reference used will be stored in your banking app or website, so please remember to change it when booking a new rally.

Also, if the bank account that you are paying from is in a different name than the rally booking, can you please make the rally marshal aware so they can allocate the payment to the correct booking.

Updated Refund Policy

When booking onto a rally, a payment/part payment may be required at the time of booking or at a specified date in advance of the rally. The amount of payment will depend on the cost of the rally and any landowner requirements. This will be clearly stated.

In the case of cancellation by a member, advance payments will be refunded minus any charges incurred by the centre (for example upfront costs in the case of event rallies or monies committed in advance to landowners/commercial enterprises).

All cancellations will be subject to an administration charge of £2.00, which will be deducted before issuing any refund. In the case of cancellation by the Centre, all payments will be refunded.

Refund requests should be made to treasurer@westwalescentre.co.uk quoting the rally number, reason for refund request and bank details.
