Illuminated Window Competition

Congratulations to Conrad and Caroline Geil on winning this year’s Illuminated Window competition. The competition was held at our rally at Pembrey CaMC Site and was judged by the wardens. Well done to all who entered.

Chairman’s Welcome

Hello fellow ralliers and friends,

I am writing this welcome as I start my second term as West Wales Centre Chairman, I am extremely proud and privileged to be the Chairman of such a wonderful centre.

I would like to thank the outgoing committee, especially Gary, who stepped down as chairman this year. You have all worked tremendously hard in the most challenging of circumstances, I’m sure everyone will agree it’s a job you have all done admirably.

I would also like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the incoming Main committee and the Ladies committee for the coming year.

We have always been fortunate as a centre to have a well-supported Main committee, along with full sub-committees, however, unfortunately this year, we do not have Sports or Youth committee representation. We hope that as the caravanning season continues that we will be able to encourage some of you to come forward and join these sub-committees. We also have two spaces on Main committee and would welcome members to come forward and join us.

In recent years, two of the Welsh centres have run into problems due to not being able to form a committee, with South Glamorgan being wound down and North Wales in a state of hibernation until the end of the year. If they cannot form a committee the North Wales Centre will also being wound down. We as a centre cannot rest on our laurels, hoping that someone else is going to pick up the mantle and join the committees, so if you love rallying, love spending time with great company, in great locations, then please think about stepping up onto one of the committees.

We have a full and varied rally programme for the 2022 season and my thanks must go to Barbara Small for preparing this in her last year as Rally Secretary. We still have a few Marshals outstanding for 2022, so please take the opportunity to look at the programme online and if you would like to Marshal any of the outstanding rallies, please let Tracy Bell, our new Rally Secretary know. We also have a number of rallies left to run this year, we hope you will continue to support these and make the most of the remaining rally season.

After the past 18 months, we feel that a celebration is warranted and we are looking to put on a Dinner Dance in the coming year, this will depend on member appetite and the COVID situation of course. We will keep you updated on the website and social media platforms.

The Welsh National rally is also returning to our rally programme this year, with a new format that sees the remaining four Welsh centres forming a committee to run this prestigious event, each centre will take turns in hosting the Welsh National, starting next year with the South Wales Centre, with the national location at Brecon. More details will follow in the very near future but keep the 25th to the 30th of August free.

Again, another item back on the rally programme will be the rally goers meeting, your opportunity to ask the committee any questions and bring forward new ideas or suggestions. This is provisionally booked for the Porthyrhyd, Summer Tea rally.

We very much look forward to seeing both long standing and the many newer members on the rally field very soon, until then please all keep safe and well.

Regards

Jay & Jo Allan

2022 Rally Programme

The provisional list of rallies for 2022 can be found here. There are a number of rallies that need Rally Marshals, if you are interested in running one of these rallies please contact the Rally Secretary. Without volunteers the Centre will not be able to continue to run rallies.

BACS Payments

When paying via BACS, please ensure that you use the correct Reference for the rally you are paying for. The References that should be used are shown against each of the rallies on the 2021 Rally Programme page.

Unfortunately, we have received a number of payments without a Reference or with the wrong Reference. In these instances, it is often very difficult to match the payments to the correct rally and it may appear that you haven’t paid.
